Design Schematic
This traditional, Colonial-style home was remodeled to accommodate the lifestyle of a young homeowner and his family, with the objective of creating a warm, welcoming space in which it is easy to entertain, both casually and formally. The 6,000-square-foot home is at once intimate and grand, comfortable and sophisticated.

This contemporary two-story residence achieved architectural significance through the addition of a white, fabric-clad cantilevered steel entrance canopy created by architects BplusU – Herwig Baumgartner, Scott Uriu. The interior remodel was designed as a complement to the dramatic architecture and also to allow for the needs of a busy family.

What had been a generic, 1970s ranch-style home was imbued with a modern, craftsman-style sensibility. Reconfigured rooms—including a kitchen that opens up to the family room and the separation of the living room and dining room, not only adapt the space to the client’s needs, but also add interest.

The remodel of this 3,700-square-foot French provincial home, built in 1941, reflects the designer/homeowner’s French heritage, love of European travel and modern art. The seamless addition of a second-story master suite and redesign of the kitchen and family areas retain the period charm of the house.

Message from our Chairman:

The 24th annual Pasadena Chapter Home and Kitchen Tour will be October 3, 2010.
This year’s tour features a wonderful variety of homes and design styles and we are confident that you will love much of what you see.
ASID welcomes this opportunity to bring to the public the best professional projects completed by members of the Pasadena Chapter.
The Homes on this tour are excellent examples of the magic that can occur when a designer and client work together as a team.
We look forward to seeing you at the tour. In addition to the homes on the tour, shop at the boutique and take a moment to meet some of the vendors that have helped make this such a successful event.
See you there!
