MISSION STATEMENT

The Mission Statement of the ASID CA Pasadena Chapter is to define excellence in the practice of interior design; to improve the value of the Profession; to work for a favorable environment for the right to practice Interior Design; and to continue to increase its membership.

VISION STATEMENT

ASID CA Pasadena will be the most highly recognized professional association for interior design.

Message from our President

Each year continues to bring strength to our chapter as your new Board of Directors take office. And as your President I could not be more pleased and excited knowing I have their support with insuring our chapter’s ongoing success. The Pasadena Chapter of ASID has always had great ideas that have been implemented – in fact we have so many ideas that they all just can’t be done every year. This year will bring to our membership some of those ideas that have been so successful in the past as well as some new and exciting ones.

The 2010 Board of Directors have approved a major advertising campaign of our chapter and our members. These advertisements will be seen monthly in several publications and will assist in raising the public’s awareness of the benefits of hiring an ASID designer. The public will be enticed to want and need our creative services and expertise. They will learn how we keep raising the bar with our qualifications as a result of so many factors – our ongoing educational programs, our experience with working with architects and general contractors, just to name a few. Our chapter will also have a totally redone website that will make us all proud.

Starting the year out was our November mixer where we honored one of our chapter’s first Industry Partners. Energy was high and it brought together one of the largest gathering of members. Our Holiday Gala was an incredible success thanks to our talented and creative chair person, her excellent committee and the special location. Our January mixer welcomes our chapter’s newest members and many other Industry Partner mixers will follow throughout the year. Our Parking Lot Sale will be held for the third time and in an exciting new location. Our experienced and high energy chair person and her wonderful committee are all dedicated with making this another successful event.

Last but not least, and stated with tremendous pride, our chapter’s 24th Annual Home & Kitchen Tour will be held in October. The public looks forward to this event for it is their opportunity to view the talents of our chapter’s designers as well as to view new products from our Industry Partners. Our committee chair has been featured several times on the tour, she specializes in kitchen design and has worked for many years on the committee. Both she and her committee of twenty-five chapter members are committed to presenting to the public another wonderful and exciting home tour.

These events, our advertising campaign and our new website remind us all of the importance of our chapter’s Interior Designers, Industry Partners and our FIDM-ASID Student Chapter. The Pasadena Chapter is a working family. As our economy slowly recovers, we move forward carefully, but we move forward with positive thoughts. I thank you all for having the confidence in me to be your President for the year 2009-2010.
